Bleigh Street Cafe started as a humble kitchen in the Holmesburg, neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. Founded by Nick Cifaldi, our journey began as a creative outlet during the challenging times of the Covid era. What started as a personal passion quickly blossomed into a full-fledged sandwich shop, within the welcoming confines of the Celtic Cross Tavern.
In November 2020, Chef Nick Cifaldi found himself unexpectedly laid off from his painting job. With newfound time on his hands and a rekindled love for cooking, he began hosting weekly pop-up specials for friends and family from his childhood home on 4500 Bleigh Street. Here, he unveiled a treasure trove of recipes and culinary creations that had long been simmering in his imagination, now brought to life as the beloved Bleigh Street staples such as 'cheesesteak mozzarella sticks' and 'smash burgers'.

What started as intimate gatherings soon gained momentum as word spread, fueled by Nick's tantalizing Instagram posts showcasing his mouthwatering creations. Demand soared, prompting the need for a larger, commercial kitchen. With the generous support of an old friend and owner of the Celtic Cross Tavern, Nick found himself with an expanded platform to showcase his culinary talents.
Today, Bleigh Street Cafe operates seven days a week under the dedicated leadership of Chef Nick Cifaldi and his business partner, Konnor McGrorty. With an unwavering commitment to freshness and quality, Chef Nick crafts homemade recipes daily, delighting the Northeast Philly community with each flavorful bite.
